The family Bible has his birth date as July 23, 1827; the 1830 U.S. Census for Capt Lumpkins District, in Oglethorpe County, Georgia, has a Henry Howard listed with four children, two of these were boys under five years of age, William Benjamin and his brother, Isaac. It isn't known when Ann died. (Howard Family Anne Arundel Gentry 975.202 A613NE V2 Page 225) The three outstanding, aristocratic Howard families of Maryland and their English background have presented a study for the family historian for the present as well as the past generations.
